In my classroom, I have 3 different grade levels of students. Each student has their own set of learning needs and challenges. My students benefit from hands-on learning as well as sensory breaks and opportunities throughout the school day. The sensory items I chose will help my students when they are overwhelmed during the school day and need a break. Sensory materials also provide my students with a brain break and can also make a great inside recess activity during the winter months. The hands-on toys and board books are also essential to my classroom. A lot of my students need board books because it is difficult for them to turn the pages of paperback books. The paperback books oftentimes end up getting ripped. I am trying to add some student favorite board books as well as some books to add some diversity in the classroom. The hands-on toys will help my learners who struggle to follow directions or stay on task in the classroom. These toys help them learn to follow one or two-step directions which will really help them excel in the classroom!
