Our students have gone through an immense amount of stress and uncertainty over the past few months due to the impact of COVID-19. With the school looking to reopen soon, many children will likely be presented with social and emotional barriers that prevent them from focusing in class. Sensory toys, also known as fidget toys, have been proven to not only alleviate stress but also help students maintain focus within the classroom. The sensory toys provided will help our students to combat internal and external frustration while also aiding in regaining the focus that is needed within the classroom. These sensory toys will be utilized in a designated calm down space within each classroom. This will help provide structure and focus for our students during their time in the classroom.
