As an OT traveling between 8 buildings, much of the equipment I use is spread out across the county, or in need of some updating for the particular needs of students on my caseload this year. Each child has different needs and motivations that help them learn alongside their peers. In order to best tailor our therapy sessions to these needs, I need to gather equipment that is not only meaningful to them, but also encourages basic fine motor and sensory processing skill development. Child centered interventions are what research shows to enhance a student's response to therapy. Having the updated tools to do this would make a huge impact on my student's sensory regulation systems, fine motor skills necessary for school, and overall performance in the classroom.
