This year our school district has been fortunate enough to be able to go back to in-person learning. However, many families chose to learn remotely. This meant that many of our devices (iPads, Chromebooks, etc...) had to be sent out to those students to use at home. This left in-person classes with almost no technological devices for the students to use in the classroom. Our school budget will not allow for any more devices to be purchased. These iPads will not only be crucial in teaching students reading, writing, and math skills, but also in teaching them necessary technology skills. They will need all of these skills to succeed in the future. The iPads will also help prepare first graders for the possibility of having to do remote instruction. Without these devices, students will struggle to learn many of the technological skills they will need for second grade.
