Many students find traditional desks and chairs uncomfortable. Giving them a choice to sit, or stand, in something other than a traditional desk provides them with a way to take responsibility for their learning. Many flexible seating choices also allow for some wiggle time or even a way to fidget for those who have extra energy. Many flexible seating options, such as stability balls also provide students with some physical activity. Flexible seating also makes a classroom feel welcoming and homey. By having a variety of seating each student will be able to feel comfortable and engaged in lessons.
