These books will allow students to engage in independent reading during their English Language Arts class. Students will be more invested and will grow as readers because the texts are written at their level. Additionally, students will be seen as competent readers by their peers since they appear to be no different than the texts the above-average readers are reading. Students will not only read for enjoyment during their independent reading time, but they will be able to relate and respond to the themes that they are reading about. The texts are written specifically for middle school-aged students and will provide them with intriguing concepts to write about and discuss with their teacher and peers.

About my class
