We are looking to give our students a calming corner to come at Burns to help reduce some of their stress. We all know this year has been different, and our students have faced some unique challenges that they have learned to adapt to. We want to be able to provide them with a place that will help them learn positive ways to deal with their stress and anxiety over middle school, the pandemic, blending learning, and everything else they are experiencing. In our calming room, we will have flexible seating, calming LED lights, patio lights hung from the ceiling, sensory fidget toys, but mostly a place to feel comfortable in talking with the counselors in a small group or individual setting.

About my class
