As an Elementary Art Educator I am very fortunate to work with all students, K-5, at two different schools. One is a STEM school and the other is a dual language school. The population is very diverse-largest group is Hispanic. Over 60% of our population is experiencing financial difficulties Art is an equalizer, helping create a common ground for students who may or may not know each other or be interested in the same things. Art helps all ages, races, abilities, and languages be engaged in a shared and loved activity.
