What is an English class without books? Having a classroom library will encourage my English II students to read more as well as help make such an abnormal school year more fun. A classroom library will also allow for a print-rich environment for my students. These books will allow my students to travel with stories that can take their mind off the world around them and introduce them to more vocabulary. Students will be able to improve their reading and comprehension skills that will transfer across subjects and curriculum. The ambiance of a classroom library will also promote a calm and relaxing environment for learning English. The stories they read will help them build background knowledge and comprehension skills. In addition, a classroom library will encourage students to read more and expose them to other cultures, languages, and traditions.
