Our students are disadvantaged to begin with. We are trying to teach journalism with few tools. Many of my students do not have internet or computers in their homes. Using technology in the classroom excites their curiosity. The donation of this digital video camera will not only help my students learn skills associated with writing, filming, and editing a news broadcast, but as their ease with the use of this technology increases, so will their confidence that they have a vital skill set that could help them in future career paths.
