Knowledge of the alphabetic principle is an essential first step in a student's journey in learning to read. As students learn letters, they begin to develop an understanding that letters each have their own distinct sounds, and that those sounds come together to make words. Without a strong background in letter knowledge, students will struggle to learn how to read, and this will lead to a negative perception of reading. These letter trays will allow students to practice their alphabet at home during distance learning, and will increase their chances of becoming a fluent reader in the later grades.

About my class
