I am a new special education teacher with students who primarily have Autism. I have been working in the special education school system for several years and have great experience of what works best. Each student have various learning styles including hands on learning! Incorporating learning through sensory play and using manipulatives such as blocks and cubes keeps students engaged with the task at hand. Throughout the day, students use these great adaptive materials which are specifically made for them to reach their goals. Creating materials and laminating and using Velcro helps me create individual adaptive books for my students. Also, Velcro is used throughout the classroom keeping adaptive and interactive signs accessible to my student to communicate. Thank you for taking an interest and showing support for my project for my special education classroom!
