While our school remains in distance learning during the pandemic, students navigate several different learning programs on Chromebooks to participate in class and learn new content. My students are 5- and 6-year-olds, and using the trackpad is difficult for them. Using a mouse would allow students to learn more independently, interact more with the new content they're learning, and express their thinking in more ways! Students and families have been putting forth so much effort to prioritize learning during these difficult times, and this tool would help support them immensely.
