Positive behavior intervention systems (PBIS) is a national program aimed at helping students increase positive behavior and school moral. Our school has started a student of the month program to increase student interest in positive behavior. Studies have proven recognition and incentives can help get behavior and moral amongst student support going in the right direction. The two students of the month per class will be chosen based on the counseling programs monthly themes and character traits. Some examples of these traits are kindness, respect, forgiveness, etc. The students are taught about these traits daily in SEL (social emotional learning) lessons with their teachers.
