Currently, my classroom has 14 tubano drums of varying quality. Most classes come to music with up to 30 students. Your donation would go towards building a full classroom set of high-quality drums that will serve Grassy Creek students for over 25 years. If you’ve been involved in an ensemble, you understand that creating music together goes beyond building music proficiency. The addition of two tubanos will give my students the opportunity to perform drum ensemble pieces. These types of activities take hard work and dedication. They form a strong sense of community and provide memorable experiences. When each of my students has their own instrument, they’ll quickly grow in confidence and creativity. They’ll receive more direct instruction time while taking an active role in their independent and collaborative learning.
