These materials will be used by students at school and participating in speech therapy activities at home (student who cannot attend so to health concerns during Covid) to increase their sensory processing and functional communication skills in various settings. A few of the items can give a voice to a nonverbal child and allow them to express ideas, make requests, and participate in classroom activities. Sensory items allow the student to focus and decreases anxiety so they can communicate and learn. Developing functional communication is vital for many of our special needs students.
