One of the most memorable parts of kindergarten are the field trips! Unfortunately, we are unable to attend field trips this school year for safety purposes. To be sure students enjoy the full experience of kindergarten, I decided to make it a goal to provide a virtual field trip like never before! This virtual field trip will benefit the digital students as well as the in-person students which makes it even more amazing. Every student will be able to join in on a virtual video tour of an apple orchard and then participate in hands-on apple themed activities from the safety of their own classrooms or homes! Supplies such as flour, salt, vinegar, baking soda, and food coloring will allow us to create scented apple pie playdoh and even carry out engaging apple science experiments! To encourage a sensory play-based environment we will also use pom poms, felt, and pie tins to create our own pretend apple pies and students will explore the virtual apple orchard using their senses thanks to cinnamon, oats, and of course lots of apples! Standards across our curriculum will be addressed within these activities along with a life-time of memories made thanks to donors like you!
