My students do not have access to modern drama to appreciate the evolution of this important art form. I teach English at a SINI high school in The Bronx. My students have extremely low reading levels and benefit from high interest, low level materials. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide our students with the materials and resources they need to continue to succeed. This is especially true when it comes to adding newer works into the English curriculum. We cannot afford to update our curriculum with contemporary pieces with which our students will be able to relate.
