I am an occupational therapist. I'm working in person for my self contained autism program K-4 as well as working remotely with my general education students. My students on the spectrum already struggle with body space awareness and transitions. Now they are learning how to function in a whole new "school" with social distancing, PPE, and new teachers. Some students have handwriting goals with are difficult to address over Zoom or from 6 ft distance. The Gooseneck iPad holders will be used to point at the students work as they form letters and perform visual motor tasks and complete fine motor work so that I can see their hands and support/assess the students goals in real time. Gift cards from teachers pay teachers will help me develop lesson plans for children that are remote that are specific to their regulation, social/emotional, executive functioning, and visual motor goals. Other supplies such as the floor tape and dots will give my students clear visual markers to stay socially distanced. Your donation will help ensure that my student continue to receive quality OT services. The goals my kids are working on include: emotional regulation, handwriting and other visual motor skills, executive functioning skills, and self care skills. Please help my students continue to make progress towards their IEPs.
