Current COVID-19 guidelines do not allow the students to share any classroom instruments, as it is not safe to do so. Providing an individual music kit for each student in grades K-2 will allow us to make music safely. I am doing my best to adapt my classroom to allow my students to still experience the music activities they love. Individual instrument kits will allow each student the opportunity to create music in a socially distant, safe environment. Please help my students to create music this year by helping us to purchase individual instrument kits. I am asking for paper bags (to contain the materials), tulle (to make scarves used for movement activities), rods (that I can sand down and cut to create rhythm sticks), stuffed animals (to be used as beat buddies for keeping the beat), and plastic eggs (to create egg shakers). 100% of our school receives free breakfast and lunch each day. The school budget does not have enough to be able to purchase these supplies for the music room. Thank you so much for your consideration and for helping me to adapt my music class to fit these times. Music is a light in a tough time, and I am grateful to be able to provide this for my students.
