As we all adjust to our new normal, we need to find fun, creative and challenging activities for our students to do independently at their desk. Students are used to playing together, unfortunately with social distancing, students are faced with the challenge of playing independently at their desk. In kindergarten, especially in the early months, kindergarten students attention span is limited, so we are trying to find as many different activities for labs to keep their engagement and excitement high as they now need to play independently at their desk. The items I requested will provide students fun and creative activities to help them stretch their brains and challenge their thinking and creativity as well. It will also keep them engaged during these challenging and unique times where students have to play alone. My crew is really adapting and accepting these new challenges. I feel the materials I am requesting will not only be fun, but will help to stimulate and challenge their thinking. I will put these materials in individual bins for the safety of all of our young learners. We have some materials, but with the year just beginning, we need more to keep them engaged and active during their daily lab times.
