In our classroom, our students are given points for positive behaviors. There are many ways students can earn rewards, a few of them including being in virtual class on time, sharing out answers in class, helping a peer when they drop their books, asking to take a brain break appropriately, being a risk-taker, advocating for their own needs, practicing skills taught in social skills class. Larger point values are given when students meet their IEP behavior goals for the week! Yay! What a great reason to celebrate! The students will be given at least one opportunity each day to use their points to purchase reward items. As they purchase items, I will place them into a plastic container for them. The rewards will be delivered to the students' homes every 2-3 weeks. (We will be following ALL COVID-19 safety precautions. As hard as it will be for us, will not be entering the home, giving hugs, or even sticking around to say hi!) We know that waiting two weeks can feel like a long time to wait for something we have worked so save up points for! I will send updated photos of the students' reward buckets to them at least 3 times per week.
