Help my students focus in on changing their thinking by helping me get positive, daily journals into their hands. These journals will help them focus their thoughts on what is good and strong about themselves. Along with the journals, classroom posters will remind and reinforce the ideas they are writing about daily. Many of my students struggle with developing a positive mindset about who they are and who they are becoming, and this project will help fight the negativity. My goal is to use this to help them see the potential they ALL have inside of them. As they use the tools, they gain the confidence to begin to see who they can become. In addition to the journals and posters, I want to further support social emotional learning by utilizing the grab and write prompts. These cards will be great for daily writing or group conversations as the cards cover topics such as friendship, teamwork, self-control and more. We can pick a card from the mystery box for the class to write about or discuss—or let students choose and respond on their own.
