For the Cadets with specific communication limitations, their differences and disorders are often accompanied by social-emotional needs. Sensory items can help to reorient students to their goals or tasks while keeping them calm and comforted. For children with Autism, which is often accompanied by sensory disorders, items such as liquid encased floor tiles and multiple-piece games with varying textures and visual stimuli can help students self-monitor their behaviors and become experts in their social-emotional learning. Upon returning to the classroom, students with particular sensory needs will help students become re-oriented and acclimated to classroom environments.
