As a teacher, I want to create the best learning environment possible for my students! My dream is to be able to create a more functional whole group learning space as well as a multifunctional space for small groups and individual work. This versatile learning center would be a valuable and much loved addition to my classroom to be used for a variety of subjects, especially science and math! Let's create a learning center that will be used in endless ways to promote student engagement, hands-on math and science activities, and academic success! I appreciate the If/Then Collection on DonorsChoose and their matching donations to STEM projects. I would use the If/Then collection to promote careers in STEM, a love of science and math, as well as a scientific approach to exploration and discovery. I would use this learning center to display oversized books, especially ones that support our science curriculum, as well as display magnetic science manipulatives such as life cycles, build magnetic ball runs, spell out vocabulary words, or as a space that is at a 6 year old friendly height to draw and write their science observations. For math, students could collaborate with their peers at the whiteboard and use magnetic math manipulatives. There are endless uses for this learning center! I'm not the type of person to ask others for things, and I am a bit embarrassed to be writing this project.
