I've been tasked to teach middle school students in a distance-learning environment. I am old enough to be susceptible to complications due to Covid-19 if I were to contract it. Therefore, I told my administration that I would help in whatever way I could. Little did I know that I would end up teaching Social Science (US History) and three different Math courses (M/J1, Advanced 6th Grade Math, and Intensive Math for 6th and 8th grades. As if that weren't enough of a challenge, the district told me that I could not receive a technologically advanced laptop with a touch screen, leaving me to try and figure out how to best communicate with my students online. I would give almost ANYTHING to be able to teach with a state-of-the-art laptop with bluetooth, touch-screen, and the latest software. I have a Masters' Degree in Secondary Education with a major in Technology in the Classroom, so I am confident I could find a way to use the newest technology to teach my almost 200 students that I see daily.
