My passion for reading is real! Every year my classroom participates in a 40-Book Challenges to encourage readers to read more than they ever have before (whether one book or beyond 40!) This challenge keeps reading as part of our daily conversation. Students and I talk about what we have read and recommend our favorites, publicly stating the best one of every 10 we finish. To ensure students will read great books, books they really WANT to read, I constantly need to replenish my fantastic classroom library. They need to have choices of relevant, relatable, high-interest books of all genres. I troll many sites to find the best new books for middle school students. While I know my students are worth the cost, this endeavor proves expensive. Any help DonorsChoose.org provides, improves the chance of my sixth graders falling in love with reading. What a perfect way to make a difference for young students!
