Printmaking has always been something I am passionate about. When I found my love for teaching, I knew I wanted to share my joy of painting with my art students. Students always seem to be more engaged when it comes to using a unique and colorful art medium. Upon arriving at a new middle school, I soon realized I was entering into an art room that has seldom seen art supplies other than a paper and pencil. I knew immediately I wanted to gain access to a full collection of printmaking supplies to embrace our closest city artist, Andy Warhol. I was able to purchase a printing press, however sadly due to lack of funds, we have not had the chance of using it. I am seeking donations to provide students with the ability to print their t-shirt designs, logos, and advertisements similar to Warhol. Students will be able to use problem-solving skills as they design and work their way through carving their design one section at a time. This is just one of the many examples that would be possible through the funding of block printing ink and supplies.
