Having an easel in our classroom will be beneficial since our morning is focused on calendar and circle time routines. Having a central focus point during this time promotes consistency and organization. Having an area to store the teaching tools that we will be using this time is essential for any kindergarten classroom. We are a Title 1 school and have lots of students coming from low income families. Teaching them organization and consistency will hep them in the future. School is a safe place that provides stability, structure and a feeling of acceptance and belonging. Having essential furniture items int the classroom provides a sense of stability and consistencey that students expect when they come to school.
