I want my Kindergarten students to be passionate about their learning even at home in these unusual times. To be goal seekers and to work hard is what life is all about! As I read a story, the book would be on the document camera so they could look at the pictures and identify key words and annotate the text while I read. Kindergarten is the age where handwriting is learned and it is hard to model the proper handwriting techniques on a computer using a mouse. With a document camera, I could use the Kindergarten paper and show the students exactly how to form their letters on the line. For math we could do number talks. It will be like we are in the classroom not home on the couch in front of a computer. This will also help when we are back in the class, with the ability to project any book, paper, or object onto the screen.
