With the 20 new bilingual and culturally relevant books I will be providing my students with the opportunity to connect with stories that are similar to theirs. I hope with these stories they get to feel empowered and valued in this world where their stories are usually not heard of. My students will value diversity. They will learn about other's experiences and understand that everyone is different and know they can make a change and advocate for others. Throughout this time that we are learning virtually, I hope to share these books through our read alouds and create learning projects to help them reflect and connect. Once we get to our classroom I hope to give my students the opportunity to access them in our classroom library.
