Each of these items will help my students to unplug and learn to reconnect with others. Our students spend the majority of their time 'plugged in' into a variety of technology both in school and out that they are coming to us more stressed and full of anxiety than ever before. When we have them in our classrooms it is difficult to get some of them to focus and engage with one another productively because they are spending so much of their day tethered to technology. These items will help our students to connect socially with others w/out technology, and help them to develop some problem solving skills in a fun low stress way. The goal is to improve their SEL (social, emotional learning) skills with their peers through non-technology driven ways. These items will also offer a few ways for the students and staff to develop relationships with one another and to offer that brain break that is so needed by many of my team.
