Right now our Kindergarten has no leveled readers, and so we have tried to cobble together donations and other books. It is really important for beginning readers to have access to leveled choices, so they can read and feel successful at their own levels. Most kids love stories and want desperately to read well, but if they are only given access to one level, it does not provide the diversity to reflect the students we are teaching! Our students are tremendously varied, and need a library to match their abilities and interests! We can't wait for all of our kindergarteners to be able to move through a leveled library, and experience the joy of reading a range of materials and subjects!
