We are trying to bring more diversity into the novels we choose to read as a class. Also, we want to address the current issues in America regarding racism and help our students understand the powerful theme of how destructive racism is. Since students are distance learning, this will give them the opportunity to have their own book at home to read during distance learning. This will also help us to have class sets to use for the following years to come. Most importantly, reading this book will lay the foundation for important class discussions about topics such s racism, diversity, compassion, and humanity.

About my class
