There is so much research that shows the benefits of being 6 feet apart versus 3 feet apart. My students are not required to wear masks, so I would love to use these yoga mats and tray tables to help them see the area they need to stay in within our classroom. There is also a lot of research that supports flexible seating and the use of yoga mats in the classroom. Using mats will enable my students to learn in a way that supports their needs, whether that involves laying down or sitting to learn best. Since our students will need to stay in their area for the majority of the day, using yoga mats will also help us with movement breaks and stretches. It will also be beneficial to teach them how to calm down using breathing strategies.
