A major emphasis of the curriculum is the development of literacy skills. In Social Studies there is probably no better way to learn both the content and a wide variety of literacy skills than employing a vast range of primary and secondary source documents, as well as a graphs, charts, and other visuals. A document camera would enable us to project our work on the screen and would allow me to demonstrate and model how to analyze a document or read a graph, it would also allow students to project their work for their classmates.
