I teach 5th grade English Language Arts. I have been teaching 9 years, but as you know this year will be very different. I will need to meet all my students' needs through a combination of virtual learning, hybrid learning, and in person learning. Having access to an IPad and Apple pencil will help me do just that. A big aspect of teaching reading is students having the ability to annotate text as they read. By having an IPad, I will be able to model that important comprehension skill as we read passages together. Also, the IPad and pencil will be very crucial for writing instruction. When I'm teaching students how to pre-write or simply write a responsive essay, I am able to model as they are working.
