My students need paint, construction paper, drawing pencils, and other supplies to create from home and creatively express themselves virtually. I will individually pre-pack the supplies for my students to work from home, so they can feel like they are creatively engaging. They will culturally express themselves through paint. This will be our first class project to allow them to express themselves emotionally in regards to their own personal experiences since COVID, social distancing, and our social society as a whole. My students are high school students who are currently not experiencing traditional high school experiences. I want to use my class as a not only artistically, but as an emotional scapegoat for how they are currently feeling about where we are at the moment. This is my way to allow them to have tangible evidence of their own 2020 experience. As this year no one will ever forget, a moment where they can create a real emotional and effective work of art during such a profound moment in their lives in high school.
