Mornings can be stressful. Students are arriving to the classroom. They are trying to put their stuff away, trying to talk to the teacher, to each other. The teacher is trying to take attendance and get everything organized for the day. It is beneficial for students to have something to do when they arrive to school. This usually includes morning work like worksheets or writing in journals. Instead of worksheets, teachers have started to incorporate STEM bins. These include hands-on activities that encourage hand-eye coordination, creativity, and problem-solving. By incorporating these engaging activities at the very beginning of the day, students have time to wake up and activate their brain. Because of COVID-19, students are not able to share supplies. I do not want this to get in the way of using morning bins, so it would be greatly helpful to have enough materials for each student to have their own to choose from.
