As the librarian of an elementary school, I try to encourage my students from kindergarten through fifth grade to learn how enriching books can be. One of the reading programs the students can participate in is the Sunshine State Young Readers Award program. There are 15 books from which to choose from and so many wish to read these books that I need to select students by means of a lottery system as there are never enough to go around! As incentives for reading these books we host a breakfast at the end of the year where students participate in a Kahoot game and compete against each other to answer questions about the books. It's not only fun but it tests their comprehension and increases their desire to read.
