Unfortunately due to the COVID 19, our school's budget is cut. Our school purchased an online program to support our children's education but we were informed to make a decision if we would like to save the student workbooks for the next year, when things may go back to normal. The team decided to save the books for the next academic year. It is important to teach children using different resources and styles of teaching. I saw a few online programs in Teachers Pay Teachers website which I thought could support student learning at school and at home. It is important to support parents as the students are forced to stay home and learn for a few days a week. The materials I selected from Lakeshore will help me teach a few standards very quickly. It will cover important standards such as Time, Money, and Fractions, hence preparing the students for third grade. The students have already lost a whole semester of education last year, they have missed a lot of teaching and learning time. Now we have to make up for the time lost and teach the students half the time since the students are allowed to come to school for only half the time a week. The students have been divided into Group A and Group B. Each group gets to come to school twice a week and on every alternate Wednesday. This makes the teacher's job challenging. We have to be very efficient and effective in our teaching styles and use our time wisely. Finally, we have to prepare our students to be independent and life long learners.
