I have set up a makerspace in my classroom, which allows exploration and individual tinkering. This is something that is usually done in older grades. However, I believe the higher my expectations are of my Kindergarteners, the more they will be able to achieve. I believe kids learn through struggling and being challenged. Through these materials, I will be able to introduce five and six-year-olds in Arkansas to technology they have likely never seen; they will be introduced to technology that may stimulate an interest in them that could last into their adult lives and in turn, affect our society and nation. It will definitely help me create kids who are critical thinkers, and this is essential for the future generations to come.
