Many of our standards rely on playing an instrument to learn about musical notes and how melodies are created. In fact, our students are expected to improvise and create their own melodies using instruments. Since we are distance learning, students will not have access to our classroom set of recorders, xylophones, or glockenspiels. These easy-to-clean and sturdy student recorders will allow my fourth and fifth graders to play from the safety of their own homes with an instrument that they don't have to worry about breaking. They also won't have to worry about catching germs from other students because this will be their own instrument.
