In the current climate, students are going to be learning in a different way. Typically, in Physical Education class, we are hands on, sharing equipment, chasing each other around and having a blast. With physical distancing measures in place, we cannot learn the same way. We have to find new ways to practice our skills while staying physically distanced. During our soccer unit, student will be able to practice their dribbling, passing and shooting skills while working on footwork, foot/eye coordination, and speed and agility. Soccer is a sport that my students do not typically participate in because the closest big city is where they would have to go to find a league. This will give them the opportunity to try something new while not using their hands and physically distancing. Hurdles will be used to practice the locomotor movement of leaping, but also can be used obstacle courses for students. Students not only stay physically active in Physical Education class but they learn about their bodies and how to take care of them. The muscle and bone puzzles will help students learn the names and locations of each body part. Puzzle relay races to build the human body will be a fun way to test the students' knowledge.
