Having access to high interest-high school material is hard to find for teachers at the secondary level. I am attempting to improve my students reading Scantron test scores through the use of non-fiction reading. Providing intervention helps close the achievement gap for my students during their time in high school. Literacy skills help students to become 21st century learners. Vocabulary, reading comprehension, fluency, and decoding help my students succeed in my classroom as well as their content area classes. Even though these magazines will be used during my Strategies and Transition Class, all of the students will benefit from the added resource these magazines provide.
