My students whose families cannot afford to purchase books for them to read for school projects will benefit from the generosity of others. The book will be used to teach them more about the Holocaust, the importance of peace, and as a way to reflect on their own place in the world. Students will create their own identity portfolios as they read about the stories of the characters in "Milkweed." Students who have online classes struggle with having to also read a book online. Having a paper back book can improve the learning experience for students as they delve into a challenging curriculum that focuses on peace education and tolerance.
