"Communication is the essence of human life. Everyone deserves a voice." As you know, RI schools are reopening in a few weeks & myself & my colleagues will be returning to our schools. As of right now, we are still unsure of whether we will be returning to buildings full time, in a hybrid model, or fully distance learning. As an educator, this is a stressful time not only thinking about our own health and safety, but the health & safety of our students & their families. We all want what is best for our students & our number one priority is to meet their specific needs in any way that we can. I work as a SLP in an elementary & middle school setting & provide important, therapeutic services to help my students become an effective communicator across a variety of settings. My district graciously provided us with a small budget for materials this year, but we unfortunately cannot use it on digital resources. We are being instructed to have as minimal contact as possible between students and use materials wisely, while considering everyone's safety. Due to COVID-19 and the potential of continued distance learning, digital resources are a necessity in meeting my student's needs. Your donations would go towards the purchase of all digital materials to help enhance my student's communicative skills and meet each of their individual needs. Any little bit helps and is SO greatly appreciated!
