My small-town students represent all of the rich diversity of America: whether through race, gender expression, religion, nationality, or politics. They also sometimes have limited experiences outside their own neighborhood or farm. These books will help my readers see themselves in their classroom library, and will also help them look out into the wider world. The titles include stories they recognize: LGBTQ+ kids coming out, immigration stories, and stories from the Reservation. They also include big city stories that give them a clear picture of the wider world. You can help me easily put great books in the hands of my readers by stocking my classroom library with these fantastic and diverse titles.
