The materials that are being requested are solely to help my new "virtual learners" have a hands-on experience while they learn from home. These children will be required to sit in front of a computer for the first half of their day. At 5 and 6 years old, that may seem like an impossible task but it can be done with the proper tools. Both the math and writing supplies will provide the interactions necessary to keep these young learners engaged. It is proven that children who practice writing not only improve fine motor skills but also help their ability to read. The dry erase boards offer the students the opportunity to erase easily with no fears, such as ripping the paper or not erasing well enough. My students will practice daily on the proper way to hold a writing tool while practicing their handwriting skills. Providing tools such as an interactive number line and multi-colored shapes will take my math lessons to a new level. Kindergarten math is all about exploring numbers and shapes, learning how to count, and understanding quantities. Counting on your fingers can only go so far! Your help would be greatly appreciated.
