My students enjoy reading, but students report our classroom chairs to be uncomfortable. They will love using a rocking chair to read, and it supports their social-emotional learning as well as academics for reading. Many of my students have encountered trauma in their lives, and building reading and literacy skills in a safe and comfortable learning environment will encourage them to read more often. Research shows using games to motivate students is highly effective and encourages students to develop healthier relationships, communication skills, problem solving, higher order thinking, and healthy competition.
